Touching Earth - Reflections on Painting Landscape

Exhibition by Patrick Cullen

Patrick Cullen - Muddy Waters About the ExhibitionFor this show Patrick has included a few earlier works of London allotments and domestic interiors along side recent paintings of Spain and Italy. As well as tracing the artist’s progress in this way, the exhibition will also track the development of individual paintings through the inclusion of some preparatory drawings not usually exhibited.

About the Artist

Eight years after leaving art school Patrick trained at the London Centre for Psychotherapy (1984-87) and for a number of years combined a career as an artist with a psychotherapy practice. He now paints full-time spending up to 3 months a year abroad and using the remaining months to work in the studio from studies done on his travels. He also does a couple of residential teaching assignments each year and the occasional workshop or demonstration.

He has recently made a number of trips to India and is working towards a major exhibition in 2010 of Indian subjects. Some of the fruits of these expeditions were included in his last solo show at the New Grafton Gallery in December 2007

He lives in North London with the musician and composer Sally Davies and their two daughters.
